I would do terrible things to see them opennig with Streets... There were rumours they wanted Glastonbury show to open with Streets... could have been amazing...
  2. Such a teaser... which never happened.

  3. Here's a thought that often crosses my mind when listening to albums or bootlegs.

What's everyone's stance on Bono changing lyrics to old songs? I tend to hate them lol. Here are my most hated examples:

-The Fly - changing "One man's lie" to "One man's porky pie"??? What the hell?

-Streets - changing "I want to take shelter from the poison rain" to "see through the eye, of a hurricane" - I mean, it's not BAD, but why?

-Iris - changing "Took a thousand years to get here", to "took a thousand years to get TO here" - which just sounds bad IMO

And there are even some vocal/rhythmic things he does that have always boggled me:

-Real Thing - On the ZooTV tour, and I think subsequent tours (would have to check), instead of singing "Even better than the real thing" like rhythmically in time with the song, he would start the phrasing a half step early, or after, and just put the phrase into what sounds more like talking than being musical. It's hard to explain. He does a similar thing with the chorus of COBL.

There are a ton of other examples, but these have always bugged me What about you guys?

Pride with "Early evening, April 4" - but that's actually accurate so it's fine.
  5. Out Of Control. From the innocent "I was of a feeling it was out of control
I had the opinion it was out of control" to the very Bonoesque post 2000 "we got big ideas".
  6. Running To Stand Still on leg 2 of the the Vertigo Tour:
    Step on a fast train
    Cheap ticket for an aeroplane
  7. Hurricane annoys me. I think he added it on Vertigo after Katrina and it has just kinda stayed. Vertigo tour ruined Streets.
