  4. Woah sorry about that. Im on mobile and I thought it wouldn't post.
  5. Hmmm curious setup that. I wonder if they're just rehearsing stage construction etc outdoors as there might be an event already ongoing indoors. But if that was the case, then said event would need the car park, surely. But if the current event needed the car park then where are people going to park for U2 @ Dreamforce.
  6. I love the name Cow Palace.

    There's shuttle buses apparently.
  8. Cool, lets just hope it gets broadcast somewhere or someone records it.

  9. It's at the Cow Palace Site. I live fairly close and have been checking out the construction. Per the photos above, they are building a massive outdoor stage for the concert. It is not inside the CP building, which only holds 12,000ish. They are expecting 3-4x that number. I'll swing by tomorrow or Monday and post some pics if I can.

Couple clarifications: The CONCERT TICKET itself www.concertforkids.com money goes to a benefit for the Benioff Children's Hospital. That's why the ticket prices are insane. The GA ticket is $1000, $750 of which is tax deductible -- so "technically" $250. That includes a huge before and after party [the afterparty rumors are already circulating - probably will be inside the actual CP] That is what you get IF you have an actual CONCERT ticket. I think the goal is to raise 10M for the hospital.

Here is where it gets complicated. If you are an attendee at Dreamforce, which is the big annual Salesforce convention in San Francisco (Benioff is the CEO, and as most of you know a huge supporter of (RED) as well as main sponsor of the last tour) you are "guaranteed entry" to the concert SITE. A conference PASS is $1800ish which is not unusual for a tech event of this size [4 days, about 200K people]

What I don't think many people realize is that, to the best of my knowledge, and thru talking to friends at salesforce.org, conference attendees with a PASS only, with the exception of conference partners, speakers etc, may be in a separate overflow area [with speakers and big screens], UNLESS they have a CONCERT ticket as well. It may be also first come first served, with CONCERT ticket holders guaranteed entry, until the actual concert area is full. The conference attendees with a PASS do not have access to the pre- or after- party, only those with actual concert tickets.

Hopefully this makes sense. Sorry for all the CAPS but I am trying to point out the difference between this being an add-on bonus for those attending a tech conference (No Guarantee of being in the actual concert area) vs an actual charity private concert ticket holder. I have a feeling that conference attendees who roll up at 800 pm on a bus from Moscone Center - where the conference is in downtown SF - the venue is actually in Daly City, a suburb, may find themselves watching the show on a monitor way way way back in an overflow section. And Daly City is the heart of the Bay Area Fog belt. So it may be pretty chilly.

Don't take this as gospel, but I do know a couple folks involved in planning as well as at salesforce.org, but that's what I've heard at this point.

But the big question remains: do you have a concert ticket?
  11. Scopes up!
  12. That's an informative read Adrienne! Thanks for that. U2 playing for charity is a good thing in my opinion. Makes the greatest hits-setlist a little easier to swallow..
