  1. I love how the B-man adresses Trump just as candidate

    1. The fact that Bono is rich doesn't disqualify him to denounce Trump. On the contrary, some of the best attacks on Trump came from millionaires like Mark Cuban and Michael Bloomberg, pointing to the fact that Trump is a rich man that stifles his own employees, has no regard whatsoever to the people that serve him and his charity work is a joke, using the money to buy portraits of him or paying his lawsuits.

    2. The US election concerns everyone and the band feels it's their moral obligation to speak their mind as this affects everyone. This is very different from Trump asking Russia to hack the US.

    3. Having said that, I think the Bullet interchange could have been more effective. There are other Trump quotes way worse than bragging he's rich. U2 could have used Trump saying horrible things to women, mocking people with disabilities, veterans, etc.

Agreed with all of these points. Cuban has been a particularly vocal critic, and an effective one, although he is a billionaire himself. If Bono had only ragged on Trump for his money, then it could have been uncomfortable...but that was only the beginning. I love how they are using their Irish heritage and the history of Irish immigration to the U.S. to point out the idiocy of some of Trump's statements on immigrants.

But yes, besides Trump's boasts about his own money there are far worse things he's said that I do wish Bono would have really gone after. Maybe next time...?
  3. Bullet!

But maybe the Trump rant went on a bit too long?

The You're fired!! and You wanna punch us?! thing was a bit too much (i.e. a bit cringy)

I agree. He coulda have made his point much quicker. I started to get bored. Way overdone... made me forget about the song and think I was watching another pundit on a network rant. God I cant wait until November so all this crap will be over.
  5. That California is perfection
  6. Really? I might need to listen again then....
  7. Huh, Bono threw in a "the goal is soul" in Angel of Harlem
  8. I wish I hadn't missed it...what I've watched so far is much better than the iHeart festival.
  9. I agree it was a great show. Something to wet our appetite for those 2017 dates.
  10. Bono really shouldn't be angering the next POTUS.

We're all used to him being politically aloof, but this election season really does take the cake. A man who hasn't wanted for anything since 1987, whose foremost practical drive is to secure Africa's future not America's - is fundamentally misrepresenting the candidate that he does not have a thorough understanding of.

His saying on Charlie Rose that he doesn't even understand why the race is close is self-evidently the result of being sheltered from every day American life.

    +1

    They are both billionaires.
