1. Originally posted by haytrainSound quality was pretty good, although I was hoping that we'd hear a little bit more of the audience. I guess what I'm trying to say is, it's hard to get a sense that this was U2's biggest show ever. 150,000 people sure sounds like 20,000 on this bootleg...

thats festivals for ya. Reggio is just a flat plain so all of that crowd is lost. Shame really.

I'm having a bitch of a problem getting this show. Every time I download part 2 it just never saves to where I want it to, it just vanishes. I now have to wait for another hour and a half. I think I might have to post half a review today.

tried all that. Part 1 has all the tracks up to WOWY so at least i'll have the bulk of the show
  4. Here is my review.

First of all, the recording which is not my favorite. It sounds very distant, and you can't really hear the thousands of people in the crowd. Which is a shame, this is not a bootleg that can represent such a historic show.

    Highlights:
+ Even Better Than The Real Thing, does he say: viva Bono? I love it!
+ All the Discotheque snippets, the more, the better!
+ With Or Without You, awesome, great interaction with the crowd
+ Ending of Mysterious Ways, they keep on rolling
+ One, little a-capella piece there? Sounds chilling.

    Quotes:
"I met a girl in the supermarkt, she says, I want your soul, to get your shoes (?)"

Crowd, from what I could hear (not much) was decent, I love the crowd after All I Want Is You. They kept on going with "a hee ooh ooh".

nice stuff Remy...the quote I liked was the next sentence: "I wanted God, you sold me religion"
Kinda works very well with what we've been saying about Pop in the MoL round table.

Anyways, I'm here to pull out of this week as well, I'm really sorry guys
  6. I have to pull out too...have been working on that Chicago gig whole day and didn't have the chance to listen to the show. I'm sorry....
  7. Evening guys, no review for me on this one and I shall explain why. I have been busy working on choosing next weeks show and it's taken quite a while. I feel like the Round Table needs a little spice and a little shake up so for this week you will have 2 options. For those with iPods, I have uploaded the video of this weeks show for you to download and watch rather than listening in the normal way. It's definitely a different experience and I personally find it a lot more enjoyable. I shall look forward to hearing your thoughts and reviews for this one. Now obviously not all of you may have an mp4 player at your disposal so you guys can just do the audio in the traditional way and report back with your thoughts and we can compare the video and audio reviews.

Note : The audio on the video and the bootleg both come from the same source. Also, if none of you object may I propose a 2 week time limit on this one as the video is 7 links and requires time to actually sit down and watch unlike a bootleg that you can listen to whilst out and about. What you reckon. Sorry for rambling, here's the show :

    added mate.
  10. Reggio Emilio Popmart

    Sound

Right, first and foremost let me make a recommendation. Do not, repeat do not listen to this show through a cassette adapter in your car from your iPod. I did this and could barely listen; sucked, a lot.

So I gave it another go whilst walking the dogs with my Sennheisers - bloody fantastic by comparison.

Not 5 star by any means, needs changing to 3 or 3.5 in my opinion. No bass, poor drums and fuzzy occasionally. As others have said, no real impression of 150000 screaming Italians either.

    But it's not bad

    Performance

Liked it. Not fantastic, but good, solid. I'm a fan of Popmart anyway so I will always like most shows.

    Highlights:-

EBTTRT - "Ciao Reggio. Viva Italia...., viva Popmart, ... viva..... Bono!" B-Man on top form
Mofo - very good and I agree with Jeremy entirely about the hairs on back of neck thing.
    Discotheque - excellent performance
One - very good performance. None of the extended guitar from early ZooTV, but everything else.
Please/Streets - as normal this was amazing.
Bono's voice was generally very good, especially compared to the next show (Sarajevo)

    Poor bits:-

LNOE dragged and I will never like Miami, ever.
Not keen on the karoake either.
    Otherwise, nothing.

    Overall

Good listen. Just listen to it in the right circumstances.
There are better (Leeds, Santiago, Mexico, Sarajevo), but this is a solid, recommended 3.5 star listen

    Oh, yes please

I'm doing a video review, no doubt.

I'll do the audio too, not got this one.

Good for the 2 week thing also, I agree with the need for spice
  12. I've heard from Tim, had some computer issues.

So, summaries for Rotterdam, Stockholm and now Reggio in the pipeline (I've been a bit busy compiling another post this week )
