    I liked the versions of NLOTH they worked on. Bono didn't unfortunately. Boots I can live without and I think they made the right decision. It was OK on 360 but it could never be played again and it wouldn't bother me at all.

    I would love NLOTH but I'm not sure if they could make it work just like the song deserves. They didn't get it to work properly at the 360 tour so...

    U2 wasted a big opportunity by not opening the 360 shows with Fez-Being Born. Man that would've been a hell of an opener. The "Fez" part of the song plays as the band begin walking walking onto stage, and then they bust into "Being Born". That song is killer. It's the Zooropa (song) of the 2000's albums.

    Personally, I would love to see certain songs from NLOTH come back. MoS is easily one of their greatest show-closers. Magnificent and NLOTH are both solid picks and Stand Up Comedy has a nice flair to it.

    It would be great to see some songs from Pop come back, but as I said before it's probably much more likely we'll see Bono's MacPhisto persona on tour than Pop.


    MOS is a great closing track, If they was to bring any NLOH material back that would have to be the most obvious choice I think. Would also love to hear a full band version of Gone next year too

    That's my one wish for next years tour that they include Breathe, maybe not even a regular, just include it, full band, album version, similar to 360 tour.

    It remains my favourite set opener and with it being such a good rocker, it might get a better reception in Arenas this time around?

    It is interesting how fan opinions can differ. I thought Breathe was one of the worst opening song choices they have made. I like the song, but did not care for it as an opener.

    It most likely will never be played again. But as they say, never say never. It would just be an unlikely choice IMO.

    Breathe was a poor opening mainly due to the fact the audience didn't know it much. NLOTH as a whole and Breathe in particular was generally ignored or unknown by a big % of the audience in each stadium. Besides that, musically it doesn't have an adequate tempo and pace like I Will Follow, Vertigo or UTEOTW (to name just 3 rockers that you can easily jump to).

    Still love the song, easily in the top 3 of its album and the top 10 of the decade.

  10. As a USA fan, I hate to admit that our audiences can be a bit, say, uh lame. But at Raleigh, Atlanta, and Tampa, I can say even though I may have been one of the few people to really know the song on the GA floor, the entire crowd was pumped up. It's really hard to screw up an opener. Even Boots would have worked. Maybe not "Grace" or "Your Blue Room." (Ha!)

    My point I suppose is that for a big stadium show, you have 50,000 or more people all ready to go full force. The opening song simply needs to be ok and uptempo! EBTTRT was probably better for the casual fan, but I truly loved Breathe and everybody was jumping around me. Now, the crowd did get lame later on, but I think Raleigh would have been the best choice for the DVD, but I've said that around here a few thousand times, as I watch the Rose Bowl DVD cringing as it is maybe my least favorite show of all the ones I downloaded or bought.
