Joshua Tree Tour 2017
Legs (3): Leg 1 - North America, Leg 2 - Europe, Leg 3 - The Americas
Shows: 52
  1. Just itching to book my Amsterdam flights. In Saturday, out on Monday would cover me for any potential second show on a Sunday. If no show arises then I get a day in a Amsterdam. Win win

Sorry dieder, I just had to giggle at this

change setlists as much as they did with I+E

Exactly my thoughts. But what if the second show is on Friday? Going from Thursday till Monday with the possibility of only one show is too long. I will wait with the flight until this is clear.
  5. I expected that For U2's standards it was fine I guess.

Same boat. Don't really want to do more than 3 nights if I can avoid it.

I could also be a normal human being and go home on Sunday regardless of a second show.

boo to final part of your post
  8. "The desert was immensely inspirational to us as a mental image for this record. Most people would take the desert on face value and think it's some kind of barren place, which of course is true. But in the right frame of mind, it's also a very positive image, because you can actually do something with blank canvas, which is effectively what the desert is." - Adam Clayton

I was just thumbing through my original JT tour program and read this quote from Adam (as I have many times before) It made me even more excited about the thought of having these songs dusted off and brought back to life in all their glory (even those that never went away) Thinking back to the times and everything this album stood for... a tribute to American roots music, The Reagan/Thatcher era in politics, the miners strike in England, the powder kegs in Nicaragua and El Salvador... Apartheid. All that turmoil, and yet at my age then, still a sense of wonderment... Fast forward 30 years and the names, faces, places and players have all changed, but still the same shit going on.

If they do this right, kids... It's going to be wonderful and those of you who were to young to see the 1st go round... fasten your seat belts for what, the more I think about it, may have truly been where the "innocence" ended...
