PS. By the way, looking back to the topic's title, I wonder: how the hell can you witness AN ALBUM?!?!

maybe the whole build up to the album, going to the record shop and purchasing it and rushing home and having that first listen. I'd loved to have witnessed Achtung Baby after JT.

thats right man, that was my point!

like now for the forthcoming album!

    great responds girls and boys!
i think pop an zootv are the most wanted eras....
    cheers
  3. For me, I prefer the elevation tour period, the return of the rock in the band's life, very good song, strongs gigs, only rock, instead of the vertigo tour that means a best of tour,
  4. Anything after 1988. Being at ZooTV or PopMart.....
  5. Unforgettable Fire era - Bono's voice was in best form ever

Aaaalright. Nice thing then. The Joshua Tree has my vote for that. What a mythical moment, listening to that organ on your living room, back in March 1987... And then Edge bringing up that infinite guitar...

Here in Spain the transition Joshua>>Achtung was not well received. That was the reason of the slow sale of tickets for the Zoo TV Tour in Spain. All concerts reaches the sold-out, but after months of selling... Spain didn't like the change of the Tree for the Fly.

Spain only knew the rawness and euphoria of that one Madrid gig I suppose so i'm sure they just wanted more and more of that. Next thing they knew Bono was back singing falsetto's and wearing leather. They wanted ore of the bull climbing the stage that they saw in 87. I bet they came around though

I didn't mean only the live stuff. After U2's Bernabeu concert (also before, to be honest), Joshua Tree was being sold as hot cakes. Then U2 came up with a special Rattle&Hum premiere at a cinema on the very center of the city. Spain was living a hard U2-mania. People wore hats, long hair and broken trousers as the Edge.
And then came The Fly. It sounded like a bunch of mad boys stringing out a few guitars and a drumming kit. People did not like it. Simple as hell.
