1. Question - why is Pop so hated?!
  2. If you compare live performances of 'The Unforgettable Fire' to most of the others' songs and phases for instance, it can be argued that Bono is a more melodic, and better live singer than Prince.
  3. Well it seems to be given that a track hasn't been played by the full band since Vertigo.
  4. That's purely the bands call. For whatever reason we'll never know. Some of the tracks from Pop would be well worth getting a run out.
  5. You should take a walk around my Facebook U2 groups... You'd be surprised HOW many fans think Pop (and specially the Popmart Tour, with which I agree to a certain degree) is one of their lowest points. Loads and loads and loads of fans and they come from all eras, not only the 80's cowboy hats guys who were disappointed with Achtung-Zoo. I think Pop is an incredible album and it features my most listened U2 song ever according to iTunes (Velvet Dress) as well as some of my all time favorites. Nevertheless the tour suffered from very poor Bono vocals and very static setlists which kind of kills the fun of listening to anything else than the top bootlegs, unlike other tours where you can stand below-average boots just because of the outstanding performaces or the setlist variation. Popmart's concept and basic setlist flow was incredible (I also love that they stuck to the album almost in its entirety all throughout the tour year, unlike they've done ever since), but the tour as a whole lacks that "something" that tours like Lovetown, Zoo TV or 360 surely do have.

By the way; this is a recurring discussion that POPs out (sorry for that ) every now and then in these threads:

    Pop
    &
    How to appreciate POP album?
  6. If you see/hear this you really keep on wondering why they decide to keep on playing the same old song while they got songs like this. If I remember correctly it's not like they rehearsed Zoo Station much before this, right?

As far as we know, they only rehearsed it the few days prior to the Berlin show

Probably the reason they've been afraid to do so since...
