And all of them differ on 1 topic. Some say dogs are animals and you need to treat them like that and some say that you need to treat them like humans. I've had some great debates over some whiskey and cigars and I was just wondering what your take is. I have a german shepherd at home in New Jersey and he's my best friend and brother!![]()

Ahhh, sorry! Right now your my mentor and i've listened to your words. haha, its not that i like to study its i HAVE to study, the vet course is very competitive here, about 300 students apply and only 120 are ALLOWED to get in (25% have to be foriegn students and a further more have to be 2nd attempt students) so my chances are VERY slim, but i will go to the courts tonight and relax, i just have to manage my fun sadly for the first 6 months
Once i'm in though, i will not be studyin in weekends thats for sure![]()
Good luck with your work Dan, tell me if you have any interesting cases this weekend! heard your on call? (i also read general chat hehe)
But i want more of your advice more often okay? haha![]()

Wow thats a curious topic to talk about, ive never really though about it till now, so here are my first intial thoughts..
(You should ask Mr. Vet man Dan too here on U2start (djrlewis) he might have an opinion on it aswell being an actual Vet)
Um, i have a miniature schnauzer and like you she is my best friend but there are boundries on what you got to let them do you know? Dogs, like wolves there is a hierarchy to them, they need domninance and i guess if you can control that from a pup, be the dominant one in the relationship then you can treat him in which ever way you want, he will respect you. but when you say treated like an animal? to some extent yes they need to be or they will just be unruly, but dogs arent just a dumb animal and treating them like a human wouldnt hurt them either but you got to have a mixture of both i guess, its so hard i really dont know with this one im on the fence lol
whats your opinion?

Originally posted by germcevoyokay as this is turning into a vet topic heres a query for you Dan. Simple solution to a dog shedding its hair everywhere. All the vetinary treatments seem quite expensive and the only other solution i've heard is to stick a little olive oil in with the dog food. Would that be right?
