1. i hope they keep rehearsing the new single and have it be a staple for this tour. it will surprise everyone from the casuals to the people like us. i love it when U2 mixes things up a bit

Yeah, I loved it when they mixed it up the last time.

    It was 1989
  3. very true very true. but like i hope they go off script a little for this upcoming tour instead of following the same set list each night. they just need like 2-3 song slots where they interchange stuff they don't usually play. that is my wish

Haha, yeah, I was just playing a little with what you said. You're right and in fact I loved that they dusted off some gems and rare songs on the past tour. And if the recent rehearsals for this tour are anything to go by, this will be an incredible experience for long term fans.

Let's see what they deliver tonight... hopefully with the PA on this time!
  5. I'm starting to get the feeling that since they're doing a 'nostalgia' show - something that they've been pretty hesitant to do until now - they're going to make sure to provide an interesting setlist besides just The Joshua Tree (as the rehearsals are currently showing). I think if they relied too much on TJT+big hits they know they'd get a lot of flak from fans. That's why they're digging up relative rarities like ASOH and UV, reworking NYD (and presumably making it a regular fixture for the first time since Elevation) and BD, and rehearsing something new. I also think there will be a few more surprises - either right out of the gates or as the tour progresses - that they've been working on in secret.

Additionally, I'm pretty sure the set will be like the 360 tour, 23-25 or even 26 songs per night. I can't really see them doing only 20 or 21 (did they ever on 360? It seems like they always did 23 or more), and the rehearsals to me sound like they don't quite have a set opener or closer yet, but mainly the 'core'. Maybe the rotation will be at the starts and ends, with the core of the main set being '80s classics > TJT > post-JT favourites'. I just have no idea what to expect! How exciting that is...

thank you man and yeah i can't wait to see what happens!! i really hope to hear ASOH in vancouver and they aren't bad songs but i do not wanna hear vertigo, COBL, MW, UTEOTW, etc. to be honest i don't really wanna hear BD but come on u can't go to a u2 concert and not hear BD. Do you think we will hear them play bad? i'm dying to hear that live

Not on every show but it will be played every now and then. They can not do a Joshua Tree tour without playing Bad!
  8. Hopefully it is more than 20 songs. I don't want it to be THAT reminiscent of the original tour...
  9. i agree!! what about 40? they can't play a joshua tree show with 40 am i right?

YES. This is a very valid analysis and I hope you're right and the band are feeling it this way too.
  11. Same, but I see more chances that 40 becomes a staple for the whole tour rather than Bad which will be pretty sporadic I bet.
