2017-06-14 - Tampa
Tour: Joshua Tree Tour 2017
Songs played: 22
Audio recordings: 3
  1. Singing in the rain snippet
  2. I still don't get their decision to open the encore with MS after closing the main set with Mothers. Someone who appreciated this transition at a show already please prove me wrong, but Beautiful Day and Elevation to open seemed to have a lot more energy.
  3. I caught them at the Rose Bowl and they did open with Beautiful Day/ Elevation then.... thought it was a better choice at the time. I think they're having trouble deciding on a good sequence with the choices they made. I would agree with them, I think this is the weakest part of the show so far..... although I think they should keep the new song in the mix, (which they didn't play when I saw them), I think ending with I Will Follow or Vertigo is a better choice.
  4. Hmmm, are they giving up on The Little Things?? Will they just end with ONE?
ASOH needs to be brought back, but without the synths!!

Saw them Chicago 1 with BD and Elevation, as well, and loved how they began the encore. Don't get me wrong, though - MS was incredible and emotional, being accompanied by the Syrian refugee video.
  6. The video for MS is incredible.... I think each song and video on it's own is excellent, I just think they have too many idea's they want to get in during the encore, which makes it seem a bit disjointed.
  7. So, R.I.P. Little Things?
  8. So that's it???? They're ending with Vertigo now?

Everyone has their own preference. I was at both Chicago shows and thought the encore worked much better on night two. All the songs on JT are so strong that, to immediately go into two ATYCLB songs just felt like such an immense drop in quality that it was kind of a let down for me. Whereas, while MS might be much slower in tempo, it's a much better song. But I know a lot of people really love BD and Elevation so they're going to prefer that. Unfortunately, there's no way to please everyone.
