1. Maybe they are just bored because of the boring audience. There's a huge difference to the audience here in Europe.
Just watch their shows in Dublin or Rome, or even in Berlin

To be frank, the sound on most of these YouTube clips is awful, and there is very little bass, and Bonos voice sounds quite weak.
When I am in the stadium on Saturday night, I bet my heart and chest is pumping because of the sound of the drums and bass, and I bet Bono's voice is very powerful.
More than anything, I will be so happy because my band of 30 years are back in town!
Speaking the truth. Nothing like that feeling of that bass resonating through while you're on the floor.

Too many phones on show I think..floor can't jump around when looking through a viewfinder.. must be very off puting for the band...or am I just showing my age! Watch the Go Home DVD and count the phones ?
  4. Listened today to that awesum new recording of Cleveland. It's so great to hear Bono chuckle when he introduces
Trip Through Your Wires with that story of meeting a local cop earlier that day.

The officer told Bono that when he was thirteen, he attended one of the original Joshua Tree shows. It was one of those
gigs after when Bono had fallen on a wet stage and "dislocated his shoulder" (Pimm). So Bono told the crowd back then
that he couldn't play the harmonica because of that fall. "After thirty years," Bono says in Cleveland, "the shoulder is
completely healed, but I still can't play the harmonica!"

Sure, people are always going to complain about the setlist but seriously people are examining every youtube video and recording frame for frame. I mean, some of these comments make it seem like the band is no longer a functional unit. If you think I'm way over the top in my support of the band, look at yourself in the mirror. I wouldn't be surprised if somebody here told South American fans to ditch their tickets because U2 isn't worth it anymore.
I bitch And state my opinion ,whether positive or negative , all I want. Who the hell are you to only accept someone's comments if theyre positive? You're ridiculous.
  6. Sometimes I'll see comments on this site that are so ridiculous and I'll just ignore them instead jumping on someone because their opinion differs than mine. It must be exhausting defending everything this band does to anyone who disagrees. I wrote a mostly negative review on my show thread and got nothing but awesome feedback from people who enjoyed it. SORRY I'm not a big fan of this tour!! No big deal. I'm not gonna call everyone who like this tour u2 kiss asses because I disagree.

I think this is quite a touchy thread because it's on a fan site criticising the band that we're all fans of. However I think we do need to all allow each other an opinion, I quite strongly disagreed with you previously but I respect your right to voice an opinion. Maybe it's a case of we're doing too much quoting others causing disagreements as opposed to stating our stand alone opinion, im talking about myself here as well.

I'm fine having a discussion over the band's/Bono's performance on this tour in which some of us who have actually been to shows on this tour disagree...but even as an American who on Independence Day is not very proud of his country (looking at you, Trump) please don't label entire American audiences as "boring." I was at Chicago seats and Cleveland GA and both were electric crowds. At least that was my experience - we all loved it.

Thanks, and enjoy your shows in Europe this month!

Thank you. I love this band. They have been a part of my life since I was 6. Believe me I'd rather the majority love this tour. I'm just not feeling it. Compared to the other tour this is my least favorite. They still crap on almost every other band.
  10. This I can agree with...to some extent (perhaps only Popmart was less ).
The good thing is that it takes some of the pressure off for the SOE tour...

But let us all not diverge too much to this topic's central theme: is there something wrong with Bono?
  11. I'll tell you after I see him on Saturday

To answer your question I stand by my original view he is concentrating more on the songs to get the lyrics right and therefore perform the songs closer to the album versions. This and the fact the songs aren't the most upbeat anyway lead Bono to doing more standing and less moving which is exactly what I want from this tour. I think like others have mentioned also the songs make him very emotional which is perfectly understandable they make me emotional too. It's less of a rock n roll show and more like him performing ballads, again what I want from this particular tour. Anyway I'll be going on Saturday and will give an honest review on the show page. I fully respect everyone else's views on the shows so far.
