  6. Paul McGuinness.. The manager of U2 for 35 years.. I've always looked to Paul as inspiration for all that he has achieved with U2.. Only a small group of people in the whole of the music business have had such a partner like run for that long and even fewer have had the kind of success that paul and the band have had.. it's a very short list. Some that immediately come to mind: John Landau and Bruce Springsteen. Elliot Roberts and Neil young.. Irving Azoff and The Eagles.. Marty Erlichman and Barbara Streisand.. Arnold Steifel and Rod Stewart.. Tony Dimitriatus and Tom Petty.. Peter/ Cliff and Metallica.. and a handful more.. For me , personally, it was and is Paul that I looked to for guidance.. Just by simply watching from the sidelines what he and the band were continually pulling off.. I've been working with Madonna for over 25 years.. But unlike Paul, I started working with her when she was already the biggest artist in the world.. Paul started with U2 before anyone knew who they were.. The great Freddy DeMann managed the early Madonna years.. It's much easier for me to come in years later once a lot of the hard work was done and the base was established.. I can never look back to the days when U2 were traveling in a van or running around New York City with Madonna in the 80's.. I can only imagine how much fun that all was and can appreciate all the hard work that went into those early years by both Paul and Freddy.. I graduated from high school in 1990 and jumped fully into the music business in 1991 working with Freddy and Madonna at what was to become Maverick Records.. by 1991 U2 and Madonna were already the biggest of the big.. I saw Paul last night at soundcheck.. We took this photo together.. When he appears you can feel his presence.. He's the real deal.. Many years back I organized a dinner for Bono, Madonna, Paul and I.. I wanted to merge my company with Paul's so we could somehow work together.. I'm honored that years later when he retired he gave me his blessings to take over what he has dedicated his life to.. I don't take any of it for granted.. Love seeing this man back in the building that he lead and helped build brick by brick.. #legend

  9. The bar opposite me is playing Stuck on a loud speaker, hence it being the bar opposite.

Anyone know why the bars in the centre of twickenham only serve fosters larger?
