The emotional connection and emotional uplift ('elevation' ?!) is why we are there !

This is an extraordinary band live...no mistake.

The revelation of 360 when Bono started singing the operatic parts was so powerful and a real vocal achievement when I remember his voice in the Vertigo tour as not being as good. It was always rare to see it in Europe and I had the privilege of seeing it in Torino in August 2010 for their 'comeback' gig with a crazy Italian audience and at Moncton in Canada.

Ok, so for this version we got the big man Pavarotti back to sing, and he is most welcome...

...but it isn't just the music, it is a song which for me encompasses so much of what U2 are, what they mean, what they stand for and believe in and what they are all about. The message brought up to date for today's troubles and tragic impact of the war in Syria, stretching back to moving memories of the Zooropa live satellite link-ups to Sarajevo, their friends, indeed fellow 'Passengers' in music & charity, their activism, the ONE campaign, the experimental album MS came from. their peak in the creative 90's.

The imagery of the refugee camp in Jordan was stunning, the message was there, some people will get it, some won't, some good will come of it, hearts and minds will be moved, Miss Sarajevo is still carrying a powerful lesson in 2017.

    It is precious.
Excellently put and I fully agree. Whilst I would say the performance of it is perhaps a little more lacklustre and understated than in times gone by I think it's so the message and the imagery can take precedence and comes through loud and clear - the same reason why a verse in a song is often downplayed - to let the chorus shine at its best.

Yeah, I often find myself a blubbering wreck (well at the very least misty eyed) at U2 gigs, and will occasionally glance around and nosey at how other people are taking it all in, and quite often will notice the same thing in others, even from those you'd perhaps least expect it from, no shame in it at all if you're one of those who find yourself doing so - it's the power of great music and song. Undoubtedly many here including myself have witnessed Bono shedding tears whilst performing too, proof if it was ever needed that he gets right inside those songs.

Bad, WoWY, One, Kite, Iris are more typical let it all come down moments for me and undoubtedly many others, but I have found other songs catching me off guard from time to time. This tour Miss Sarajevo hit me like a ton of bricks with the imagery, and I welled up again with the new imagery and message behind UV - in particular The Land Army picture got me, my gran was in the Land Army and got a medal from the Queen and it just set me off. I even got teary-eyed with Noel singing Half The World Away and even the PA Intro by The Waterboys - that sets me off at home all the time too - a perfect perfect song that will undoubtedly push many peoples buttons.

Completely agree with everything here. It's one of the most U2ish U2 songs there is, but one that often slips under the radar.

I've always had a soft spot for Miss Sarajevo and hadn't realised it was such a big feature on this tour, and the arrangement itself was lovely to watch for the first time. I'm probably somewhere in the agnostic region as far as my own beliefs sit, but when Bono sang the 'first communion [..] synagogue [..] Mecca..' lines it hit me right in the feels and really came together for the first time.

The visuals made it truly special, especially Onaina's story - made me feel such a range of emotions, rather like Zooropa during I+E. A really special moment.

Plenty! Bad on Sunday got me started, and I was riding the wave for the rest of the show. Utter magic.
