  2. ok fellas...
here's my first and short review....

I loved the beginning, eventhough I would've loved even more COBL for a starter... I can only imagine those lights going down the screen... but Vertigo was great!!
so aside from all the songs that were left out, which is a real shame, it was impressive!!
I loved to be on stage with the band, I really felt that I was there... those precious moments when Edge stares at the cam, or Bono does, or Adam does are amazing. But it was really priceless to me, been able to see Adam at his most!!
One thing I kind of dislike was when they placed one image over the other, like in shades, I really can't find the exact word or phrase to express it... It's like you lose the image quality and the 3D expirience....
One thing I really hated was the ending, I think the editor or director or whoever it is that choose that ending, screwed it bad!! they should've shown Yaweh and not short images while the credits slowly go down.... I would've left the whole video and on one side, without making the screen shorter, put the credits and let the video roll...

Also, it could've made an AWESOME thing to see Elevation, since at the concert Bono grabbed a paper that fell from one of the fans hands that read on one side: WE MISSED YOU!! and on the other: WE WILL MISS YOU!! and out that piece of paper he made an Airplane... imagine the airplane going towards you, so close you can grab it.... damm, that would've been awesome...

another thing, damm their getting old man!!! hahaha!!

anyways... I really loved it and enojyed it a lot!! and I loved been able to tell or to recognize moments from my concert, and most of the film is from the one I was at.. so that made it even more special to me...

oh, and I saw myself, in the theater's toilet mirror when I went to pee!!! hahaha!!! unfortunately neither me nor my brother showed up at the film there where no close ups of the people outside the Golden Ring....

Next thursday the 27th I'll be going again to the theater, so my review will be more elaborate... I promise I will... maybe song by song...

'till then, I have 45 pages of this fecking topic and about 673 posts to go through and catch up with everyone else!!!

    greetings from Argentina mates!!
    home of U23D!!!!
  3. Great review, Johnny! Thanks!
  4. Can't wait....
  5. great, Johnny I'm glad you had such a wonderful time. Wait until you see it once again... then it's even more impressive I've seen it twice now and can't wait for another round

    thanx for posting!
too bad you didnt see you, or youre brother..
  7. Two hours ago I saw U23D. One word is enough: "great"
  8. The closest city to Slovakia where I could see U2 3D is Vienna...but it's too far for me, even though it's a few kilometres from our capital, Bratislava. But I'm not gonna be in Bratislava when U2 3D starts in Vienna...but I should be there on 26th June to attend Carlos Santana show...can't wait

Aaaargh, I will surely go crazy if I don't see U2 3D I'm really jealous because of you, lucky bastards

It probably stays in the theaters long enough...you can catch it!
  10. Hey all! Just had one of the most amazing nights of my life…U23D, what a spectacle!

I went to it with my oldest brother and a friend and we arrived just in time because of heavy traffic jams, rainy weather and some problems with the car park . My brother’s Van was too high to enter it, but we did nevertheless. Halfway the carpark we had to turn back, avoiding all the lights at the ceiling.

Anyway, we entered the huge cinema (Pathe Arena, with one big gigantic IMAX-hall on top of it) just in time. It was 8:02PM I think, the show should have started at 8:00 though.
The screen I looked at was gigantic, just fecking enormous! We had a nice seat, somewhere halfway.

I loved it when you hear Bono saying ‘Everyone, everyone’…You would expect COBL to be played though…but when Larry kicked in with the Vertigo-drums my ears were ringing…that sound over there was pretty hard, almost too hard. My ears are still echoing…

I’ll continue this review song by song:

-Vertigo: Loved it, amazing opening song for this movie, giving me shivers everywhere.

-Beautiful Day: Also great, but not the best performance-wise. Just give me Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band and Paul McFuckingCartney. But with this sound, and this view, even the worst performance is brilliant. Also great to see Bono flying right in front of you..!

-New Year’s Day: Oh so powerful! And when Edge comes in…shivers..

-Sometimes You Can’t Make It On Your Own: Beautifully sung by Bono, especially the opera-part, the best I’ve heard so far.

-Love and Peace Or Else: Don’t really like the studio-version, but it rocks hard live, like New York. This one was just amazing for me and so powerful again.

-Sunday Bloody Sunday: Not the best performance ever, but still very good.

-Bullet the Blue Sky: Best Vertigo-solo from Edge so far

-Miss Sarajevo: The Italian part…just awesome.

-Pride: Smashing in right after the Human Rights, decent performance, nothing really special, but a great experience though.

    -Streets: Awesome as always

-One: Indeed a very great start, also a very good performance. One of the best I’ve heard (and seen)

    -The Fly: Brilliant

-With or Without You: Lovely audience (the entire show, by the way)

    -Yahweh: Great version

Loved the 3D, agree with the rest about Larry’s drumkit and the other close-ups, like Bono singing in your face and watching to Adam bottom-up.
We’ve planned another visit within a few weeks, and we will take some more family and friends to the show…This is brilliant stuff.
  11. When we entered the car at our trip back home, we turned on the radio...guess what was on...
  12. Great reviews from Casper & Johnny....glad you two both finally got to see the film!
