  1. always the same story/setlist and now baloons too like Coldplay? Please it must not real oh my Godness where are "my" u2?
  2. The show in Amsterdam was visually great. The setlist was also great. But the sound was horrible. The quiet songs like, Running to stand still, were acceptable standing GA. For tonight I have seating tickets and hopefully the sound will be a lot better than last night. But again I enjoyed the show. The band was in great form. But tonight will be the last show ever which I attend in the Amsterdam Arena. Not even with a free ticket.......

This is probably my fourth post about the sound ! Yes, it was terrible, and my case that was from good seats. For Noel it was even worse, disgraceful for the fans.

For U2 it was significantly better but still poor. First gig at the Arena and last.

I am comparing the sound to both Twickenham GA 3 weeks ago which is not famous for good acoustics but the sound was great.

None of this is to take away from the crowd who were excellent throughout. Met nice people fron Germany, Oz, UK, France and of course NL (whose English language capability is phenomenal! ) Visuals stunning and moving as usual.

Bad (don"t give me ASOH for rariity please) UV, Pride, Streets, energy back from the crowd for Elevation and Vertigo, One were all highlights from where I was.
BD balloons worked very well (and I am not a BD fan)
MW girl was great (but again the drum mix had a click track to the fore out of time which I have never heard before)

I am glad I am not going tonight for ' sound' reasons! Brussels up next and the party is over.
  4. I still desparately hope for ASOH tonight!!

we had seating tickets (123) and the sound was ok for Arena standards. couldn't hear what Bono was saying in between songs though. But hey, is is and always will be "een galmbak"
  6. why never,never 40 at the end?
  7. please answer to my questions:
    1) first 4 song always the same ( only some exceptions for a sort of homecoming), why?
    2) all 11 songs from JT and ok it is 30th anniversary , but......
    3) why always BD, Ele and Vertigo, they have better songs to play, more rock, the fly, until ,etc etc?
    4) why in this tour miss saraievo with recorded voice of Luciano Pavarotti (rip) , what's the meaning, ok for Rome, but others location ?
    5) so we have same 4 songs, plus 11 form joshua tree, 3 bd ele vertigo and they make 18 songs. Last 4/6 always in not heavy rotation the same too. Only one song from upcoming album " the little things.....". Once i will follow or not many more times.

IMO the tour of SOI was much better, new songs form album, and much better all the others. Waiting for next tour. And the shows from the end of 360 degrees and NLOTH are really amazing but not so spectacular.

I think that Guy Oseary of Live Nation is too much a money maker than a music fan like Mr Paul Mc Guinness, do you agree?
  8. Bazzz- it is the JT tour- they always said they'd play the album in order - don't tell me your bored of hearing the second half of that album.

As for BD/ Elevation/ Vertigo- have you seen the reaction these songs get?? That's why they play them....they will never stop playing them.

Across this show they are playing 7 or 8 rarely or never played songs- which is 30% of the set list...
  9. BD/Elevation/Vertigo are probably the three most irreplaceable songs in the modern U2 setlist, especially back to back. My only complaint is that the encore doesn't open with this trio. It really lifts the roof off the place at every single show.
  10. Hi... does it feel like a sauna inside the arena...i don't know how to dress :-)
  11. And most important...how much is a beer ???
