Personally, I wouldn't mind seeing the same 1st part of the show as it was on i/e and then fill the 2nd part of show with SOE songs and a few classic "experience" fillers...
SOI and SOE could be masterpieces, and they would still drop most of the songs. They are following the template of predictable setlists, with focus on the Warhorses. I can put up with it as long as they put a few new songs in here and there. I guess I am conforming, as older acts have tunnel vision. They need to pay the bills, etc. I am so sick of Beautiful Day! Elevation is getting close to burnout, and as much as I love Walk On, I can't do that one anymore. Despite every old song that I am sick of, there comes a moment in each show where I am taken back to the old days. It happened with Pride at the Louisville show. I've heard the song a billion times, but the passion in Bono's voice is still powerful. So if I win the 400 million dollar powerball, negotiations will begin with the band for the Pop in full show with Breathe, So Cruel, Arcobat, and maybe Drowning Man thrown in for good measure.
Seriously, I do hope that SOE is better, or "Much More Better" than SOI, and hope they don't go 360 2011 on us and make it a hits tour again...but deep down inside we all know it is gravy from here. They have given us the best that they have, and anything else is a wonderful bonus.
  3. hope it will be a rock rock and rock album

  5. Hope it is the 1st December. Be a nice birthday present to myself?
  6. Thanks for admitting me to the group.
    Can't wait for 1st December!
The Irish Radio DJ who always gets first play has listened to the whole album and is raving about it. Lighter than SOI. If 'Little Things' is anything to go by we are in for a treat. I must have listened to it 100 times and it's such a beautifully crafted song.
  7. I think they found their sound balance
Even if we all Know that noone plays like U2 and noone ever played Like U2 they just settled down
It doesn't mean that they have Got nothing more new to offer.that means that durig all these years of evolution ad Experience ( the virgin sound of Boy.the raw War .the ethereal Unforgettable.the American Joshua.the experimental Achtung.the Electronic of Zooropa ).they have reached their "personality"
This just to saythat i think SOE will have the same sounds of SOI
  8. I've got a good feeling I'm really going to love this album. I don't think it will be any Achtung Baby but I think they'll have these big tunes that just hit you. City of blinding Lights is my favourite u2 song since ATYCLB and I think there going to be a few songs similar to that type. Probably won't please everyone but at this stage of there career I'm happy for them to write songs that are pleasing on the ear. I think if they tried another Achtung Baby it wouldn't work however I do hope for some of the heavier guitar elements in at least a handful of tunes. I think SOI was great but I'm hoping it was just the warm up to SOE.
