1. I wonder if it's to do with duration? Blackout is almost 5 minutes long, a bit long for a radio single.
  2. The more I listen, the more I like. (Just like every lead single since The Fly, even though this technically isn't lead single!) What this song shows me is that it may take them more time these days but they know how to reinvent, restart and reboot!
  3. Was Blackout live? or the studio version? It sounded live...

Based on The Killers new output, I really think we have Jacknife Lee to thank for that.
  5. I quite like it on first listen. Memorable, catchy, great industrial guitar, could easily be opening song on the next tour, but I think it sounds quite incomplete. I think the rhythm section fails it a little, but that is purely based on a first listen.

Sorry to you guys that attended, but I hate the video. They could have done so much more with it.
  6. It's lodged in my head I'm liking it more and more. Nothing on Spotify yet, should that happen. Being that this isn't "the first single," it may not be put up.
  7. It's an easy song to do a radio edit of if it was to be released. Just odd but ill take two new songs in a week any time. I just worry it will be to the detriment of the lead single.
  8. Mods, make a poll.
    Do you like the blackout.
    It's okay.
    Need more time to listen.
    Very promising.
    Not the greatest.

IDK what to say but let's get poll going

Agreed on all accounts - it's very weird. An artist putting the full album up, a song a week, a song a month, etc. isn't unheard of these days. But to say:

"here's a new song, first single coming next week, album news to come next week as well" is odd. Lead with one song for now and say the album is coming later.

All makes me think this is just an extended teaser. I think there's a chance it will sound quite a bit different on the album. Basic cheap video adds to the teaser thoughts. A lot of effort for a teaser though.
