1. And then he watched a Nat Geo documentary about dinosaurs and said " Eureka!"

    With a dash of Muse

It's like Coldplay's new song where they mixed earlier songs into one song.

No I'm am not comparing the bands.....no way
  4. It's a better lead "single" (even if it's technically not a single at all) than Invisible, The Miracle, GOYB and virtually anything since Vertigo. Not speaking about the quality of the songs but about the potential outreach.
  5. It's a fine song, MUCH more curious to hear how this sits in the context of the album.

To those who are saying this could be on Achtung Baby - examine an interesting thing called "recency bias"

It's Pop meets ATYCLB, which I'm excited about. If Best Thing is really tied to a Nile Rodgers sound, we may get all the same elements of the Pop record with opposite effects - it will be too polished and striving for hits. Again, this may be just what the band needs.

Pop will be the dense record. SOE will be the dance record.
  6. They are going for the Facebook views! Instead of releasing it everywhere.

Will be up on other networks in a day or two

Hold Me TMKMKM crossed my mind too at first listen!! And I already spoke about Noel Gallagher after last night's 16 second teaser... So we're definitely on the same boat (once again).

I like this analysis and I'm thinking this will be the dance record they've been talking about since a century ago
  10. when the bassline started my brain started to sing "I'd sit alone and watch your light
My only friend through teenage nights"
  11. Wow, this seems like it came straight out of Pop. Not necessarily a bad thing either. Pop album had some real gems.

I really hope the album is as playful & adventurous as the song suggests.

I thought ot would be some kinda promoclip for the album, also not a lead single, no charity single, not on itunes/spotify so..what is it..just a gift for the fans? strange..but great song!
I think they also released a full song of ATYCLB (When I Look At The World) before the album came out. Not this early, but maybe it's just a bit of the same; no single, just solid album tracks that give you a bit of a feel for the album. But of course this time with all the social media it has a different impact.
