1. Judging of what we've seen so far this could be a better album than the last one. But I'm not holding out to much. The little things is the best song I've heard in years
  2. Where are the horns?

  3. I think they can justify the comments they made about waiting to release the album when you look at some of the lyrics in this song. I'm sure other songs have been updated as well.
  4. I like seeing the playful, dark & mystical Bono. We saw that on Achtung Baby & Zooropa. I feel like he is channeling something simiar in this song or simply more of the Pop Bono personna. Or maybe I'm reading too much into it.

Great minds, dear boy, great minds..

To those who are saying this could be on Achtung Baby - examine an interesting thing called "recency bias"

It's Pop meets ATYCLB, which I'm excited about. If Best Thing is really tied to a Nile Rodgers sound, we may get all the same elements of the Pop record with opposite effects - it will be too polished and striving for hits. Again, this may be just what the band needs.

Pop will be the dense record. SOE will be the dance record.

One hopes. Definitely agree about the dancey vibe - not quite on board with the AB comparisons being mooted, but as far as an album of hits goes, maybe it's worth it? Depends on their goal I guess. I've spent the last couple of months binging out on Def Leppard - the Hysteria album was deliberately made as almost an album of singles (they had MJ's Bad in mind) and once it caught on, they released 7 of the 11 tracks as singles, the band took off and it was all rather excellent generally.

I had a point there but it got lost. Anywho, Blackout definitely excites me, and fingers crossed it's a sign of things to come!
  6. ok... that's a cool song but I don't know if its just me but reminded me of a lot other songs.... The first riff is like Zoo Station, the begining of the bassline sounds like Radio Gaga, not a bad thing, just thought it was funny haha
  7. Not bad. They've somehow made it sound fairly relevant but still like U2
  8. soi plus soe, concept albums IMO
  9. Can't wait for all you Best Thing haters to backpedal next week

    (hopefully anyway)
