  5. I actually really enjoy YTBTAM and I think this is an excellent first single. What I don't understand why it is so inconsistently produced/mixed/whatever. Bono's voice changes significally and I wish it had more rawness to it.
  7. I think it fair to say that we must at very least give what is offered a good hearing. Would you agree? It seems the weakest song comes first in many occasions with this band. I grew to really enjoy Songs Of Innocence, moreso after seeing 6 live gigs that tour. I was going to be happy with just 2 but opportunity arose to see more and i really enjoyed the songs live. I think part of me is hoping for similar with this release and how they transcribe into the live context. This is where U2 really exist for me. The issue of the price of tickets is the problem i have with the band and how they do not stop Live nation and outlets from extortionate costings. That is purely wrong.

    I open up a debate about this if anyone wants to run with it. We deserve this band but we do not deserve the nature of being ripped off do we. I see how tickets are allocated but the band have voices too and could just stop that. Paying £187 and upward is criminal. Set a fair price that we can all afford. All shows would be packed out and fair too.
  8. I like Blackout way more, this song is put together from pieces that somehow don't hold together. Or so I feel after hearing it 3 times. Quite surprising considering we have heard a remix a year ago...

    I love this part though:

  11. Here's a few points from a blogger I subscribe to. He wrote this last night in regards to being able to get tickets to last nights show for as little as $6 on StubHub a few hours before the show...

    5. Brokers are never gonna go. Because promoters like them. They buy inventory right up front, providing cash and obviating risk to the promoter.

    9. We need a better system. But acts love the shenanigans. U2 is being paid by Live Nation, they don't care about each individual show.

    10. The manager has to be concerned with the longevity of the act. You've got to give the illusion that the band is still on top. U2 would have been better off with a severe underplay, theatres, then buzz would have been amazing in every city. Instead, focused on setting box office records, making it about the money, they've hurt their long term prospects.

    I have to agree with him (Most of the time, I don't, but when he's on, he's on)

    It's unfortunate, but it's the way we've gone. Part of me wishes it would go back to the old days... where you had to camp out at the ticket outlet the night before to get your place in line...

    "To boy" made more sense to me. I have no idea what this is supposed to mean.
