If this band can appeal to the sensibilities of young children and teenagers then that really is to be commended i think. After all, music is universal and will still speak after we are all long gone, buried and dead. This will continue to speak!

"To boy" made more sense to me. I have no idea what this is supposed to mean.

So people should only post positive things and keep their mouth shut when it's negative?

Not at all, and it's my fault because I didn't make myself clear enough - you can read negative/critical comments with some actual substance, I was referring to the ones that seem to try too hard to "scream" their opinion to everybody, like it matters more than anybody else's. If I want to read people shitting on U2, without reasoning, I can just go to Twitter.
Does this u2_michaelc has some attention seeking issues? Why does he call me out like that in the post? Any moderators here left?
Great defender of free speech... even better with quoting (reposting) other people opinions.

It's as incorrect as "to boy". The only correct way would be "TO A boy" but that's one more syllabe that you can't fit with the chorus' rhythm

Yes - much prefer the Blackout. That said I was prepared to hate this song but I don't -if they want mainstream it could work. Problem is it is a bit of a throwaway song that probably took 1/2 hour to write (and 1000 hours to overproduce).
This song just will give the haters more ammunition sadly.
Frankly I would have preferred The Little Things as a single - it's not poppy and wouldn't have appealed widely to a radio crowd but is the best demonstration that they can still write awesome songs.
