1. Regarding the mix quality, I'm going to hold off judgement until the album itself gets released. It's not uncommon for lyric and music videos to have totally different versions of the song.

Plus, it's not hard to toy around with equalizer settings after the fact to get the mix you want so unless it's absolutely unbearable I probably won't mind this.
  2. Remy, what do you think of this song?

Yeah, I know - and I'm hoping this is the case as well. Edge's statement about a totally different mix and arrangement existing gives credence to this idea as well. Did he say there's a different version of The Blackout out there too?

It's still weird that they're putting all these out there when they might not be the final versions.
  4. I expected a better song, this mix is all over the place. It lacks some coherency I think is my main critique. And a bit too poppy.

But it's U2, so I like it after 30 listens. I think I will like the live version a bit more.
  5. Great song! Can't wait for the album. Hoping for some dark rock songs

this... They will always make the songs sound 100% better live
  7. Haha, it's cool to see a photo of The Fly in the lyric video.
  8. I like the song and I really want to see it live next year.
Someone has posted the Sci-Fi-Fi soul mix ?

    Thanks

Possibly a ploy to deter downloading and converting?

Nowadays it's really easy to make fine tuned adjustments to tracks because everything is done digitally. It's a good thing for last minute adjustments, but it's also a bad thing because bands aren't really pressured to commit to a "final version" like they used to be.
  12. You know, to bring this back to a conversation Gerry and I were having for a second this morning, U2 really SHOULD go on tour and THEN record the album. Seriously. Think of how much they always (or at least for the most part) improve their songs live. They should really tour them, figure them out, go into the studio with the energy of playing them live and record them fast.
