No the lyric video is for everyone, U2.com subscribers will get a visual art soon.
  3. Really digging the song. Good groove, catchy chorus! Finally they made a good choice for a first single after Miracle and Boots.
  4. I just Got the email today For the lyric video
  5. love the song, but, why not the sci fi soul mix as official single? the song flows more and is more coherent
  6. Maybe that IS the one that Edge was referring to.

I agree. It's still not perfect, but it's certainly much better than the mix they went with.

It's weird, I don't think I've ever had this criticism for a U2 recording before.
  7. Nowhere near as joyful though.
  8. Should have given it a harder sound...could have worked nicely then

It's completely different. It sounds like 4 people instead of 10, it's way more cohesive in terms of the way it's arranged, and it's not nearly as bloated in terms of the production (no strings, no big pompous bridge), etc. It might have that weird EDM middle section, but I'll gladly take that to have the rest of the song the way it sounded in that version. It sounded more complete, it sounded like it had direction.

This version is all over the map and sounds like it was recorded in different parts of the world and all pasted together at the last minute. Again, I love the song, but the mix and recording itself is balls.

    ^ this.

  10. I don't think it's commercial at all. Commercial is Elevation or Vertigo.
  11. Ha!

Elevation or Vertigo would be considered alternative these days.

Tastes and definitions of what sells/what's commercial change.
