1. I don't understand the line of thought.... It's not like U2 just changed their style to poppy songs to play on the radio
  2. They have a little bit, whether intentional or not.
  3. They kinda have with certain songs, Bono himself spoke about it today in fact that The Best Thing was a song that belonged on radio. Not that I'm criticising the band for doing more commercial numbers although I like the less forced attempts more like beautiful Day and vertigo, not that either of them are considered amongst my favourite u2 songs.
  4. I imagine that the way discohype is feeling is something like huge fans of the 80s U2 felt when AB came out

At the time they were. Rock isn't so radio friendly anymore, but when those songs came out it was still.
  6. Possibly but to try and take my opinion out of it (because Achtung Baby is my favourite album) the songs on Achtung Baby have stood the rest of time very well, that is a fact, more so than any u2 album. So there has to be more substance in there at least that's what the majority must think based on its success.

  7. Nope. I'd still like it.
  8. I REALLY love achtung baby.
ZOOROPA is one i really love to listen to these days.
    Even Pop.
The Beginning of the end is from 2004 to 2014 with music i listen to and convince myself that i can love it...
But what i listen to with new songs is without any sparkle or flame. So i think i wont spend my time with what U2 has become. But i keep my love for 1980-1997 period.
