  1. Great show at Indianapolis I swear Adams bass was so loud last night stadium floor was shaking at lucas!!!!

  6. I felt like the crowd was a bit hesitant for the new song
  7. It was hard to tell from right up front. Everyone I was around loved it. He was right by us when he asked what we thought of it, so we all went nuts (justifiably, because it was the best part of the night). I couldn't really gauge the rest of the stadium's reaction.

    Our local paper, the Indianapolis Star, did a great writeup of the show, and it includes a lot of the local references that y'all may not have caught. I didn't even realize that his quote early on from our "local genius" was from Kurt Vonnegut. I love, love, LOVED him talking about Bobby Kennedy in Indianapolis right after MLK's assassination right before Pride. Almost cried. That's such a poignant part of Indianapolis's history--Indianapolis was the only major city (or close to it) in America that didn't have large-scale riots after MLK was assassinated, because Robert Kennedy broke the news and spoke so eloquently on the matter and really got the community to come together and heal (only two months before he was assassinated). And the fairly lengthy Dalton Brothers discussion during Trip Through Your Wires was so much fun.
  10. One of the interesting things for me was the (apparent?) technical problems the band had last night. I don't know what the hell was going on, but there were a couple songs (Still Haven't Found, the first 2/3 of WOWY) that really struggled. At the end of ISHFWILF, I turned to the guy next to me and said "They still didn't find the key they were looking for, did they?" It was bizarre. I also don't think that Edge got the right guitar setting for Ultraviolet--it sounded fine, just a little off. Bono looked back from the tree stage and smiled after that song, seemingly acknowledging that.

    That said, I can't imagine that some of these songs would have gotten a reaction if they were that messed up (particularly ISHFWILF)...so maybe it was just some of the echo in the stadium leading to distortion where I was? I'm not sure. The stadium is definitely a little more enclosed than FedEx Field, where I saw them in June, even though the roof was open last night.

    Don't get me wrong--I'm not trying to shit on the concert (not at all). It was INCREDIBLE, and I feel so lucky that I was able to be at such a great show (in my hometown!).


  11. I thought the Fallon performance fell quite a bit flat for me, but I thought the song was absolutely brilliant last night. I'm not sure if it just has a hard time translating over to video or what...but I thought it was really, really great live. Best part of the show for me, easily.
