Oh c'mon, you have to admit there's some passive aggressive posting going on in here! I'm allowed to be a huge fan of "traditional" U2 and still like this new mix better than the one they put out.

It's Kygo, Bono and a bit of Edge. It's not the band and as my nick probably gives awayI prefer bandversions over EDM mixes. I think this collaboration is more about "being relevant" and reaching a broader audience. Nothing wrong with that.

You're not wrong, but to me this just comes out to be a superior song. It comes down to U2's version being mixed extremely poorly, not loving the arrangement they went with (the cheesy strings, the weird "solo" section, the guitar part Edge went with for the chorus, etc.).
Maybe there's more meaning to that than what's on the surface.....i.e - U2 aren't as good at writing a pop song as a young EDM DJ. Then again, it was U2 that wrote the lyrics, the chord changes, the basic song. He just added some stuff in based on their song, took some stuff out, etc.

Right! And nothing wrong with that all...
(and for those keeping note, LarryMullenFan is in my demographic also!)
