Sure. But still, 200-300 people around that? Unless you're a chick hoping to get pulled on stage, you still shouldn't be in bad shape.

And any chick thats part of the "check in or lose system" should know that if their name is not Amra, they're not going on stage, so...

Yeah if people don't get too worked up about principle which to be fair they might be entitled to then they would possibly be not bothered about giving up there place. As you say 200-300 people probably wouldn't cover the length of the stage and the chances are you'll get people with different ideas of what the best spot is leaving plenty of room all round. Me, I'll stick to showing up roughly when gates open, well actually I was a bit later than that last time but that's because I was enjoying my pints too much, missed the start of Noel but still got a great spot.
I got there at 6pm and still found my ideal spot. As you said, its different for all.
  3. lol this thread
  4. I'm appointing myself leader of this thread. Anyone who doesn't check in here every two hours shall be booted and lose all privilege to have a say here.
  5. People, I will sit here and personally guarantee you that employees of NFL-sized football stadiums are not taking time out of their days to meet with Starbucks Chad to find out how he's handing out his special wristbands in parking lots for two days. It's a literally ludicrous idea. These people are entitled and taking advantage of the fact that not enough people will do anything to stop them, and they're right.

I'm not even saying that lining up somewhere else and simply queuing is out of the question. It's this bogus "come find me somewhere in town every 6 hours to check in!" that really grinds my gears. It's not lining up for a U2 concert as much as it is an episode of the fucking Amazing Race!

I don't think this will significantly increase the number of people queuing but gives people who want to a fair chance and then people turning up early on the day should at least know they won't be at the front of the queue. I still don't necessarily think it's the best idea but the easiest to implement and give people a fair chance.

There is no one great solution of the queue, if there was, we would have it implemented already, but I would say that even those check-ins every 3 or so hours are confusing and not necessary. I would say a queue is queue and not that people show up every 3 hours or so. Get in the queue, make friends around who will hold the place for you if you go to a toilet or grab something to eat for half an hour and that's it. This way people would not be "queuing" for 2,5 days, which is insane anyway, the queuing time would be way shorter and the results exactly the same. Or even simplier - venues should forbid queuing until say 10 hours before the show. Just my opinion, nothing more.

Thanks for confirming, Matt. That's exactly what my friends who work with/at venues have told me. They won't do it at their 1,000 - 1,500 seat venues, so why on earth would someone at a stadium size venue do it?

But that means you have to show up and put the time in and earn your spot. Who wants to do that?

I won't use the phrase "back in my day" anymore (oops, I just did!) because apparently but it's not. Sorry You had whoever was in line with you hold your place, because that's what we did as fans. Made lifelong friends with a stranger we shared a place in line with for 24 hours... I know. Difficult concept to grasp... but it worked. Every time.
  9. Sergio hasn't checked in in over 2 hours. He's booted.
  10. He was just at the wrong Starbucks!
