1. I really love NLOTH and I think a lot of people on this site do as well. But I think a large majority U2 fans not on this site would write that one off as a loss.
  2. The Point is that maybe we want ( we would Like ) another masterpiece.thing that we miss so much...
That means that we're just a Little disappointed?
  3. I'm not expecting a masterpiece. I'd just want them to make touching, beautiful music, without worrying so much about the charts and "relevance".
NLOTH has amazing pieces of music, just because they didn't care about radio (minus Boots).

    +1
  5. A masterpiece For us not For the world or the charts
Somethin that we "crave" For.that i meant
  6. Don't think that the acoustic version is that bad... They are just experimenting which we should encourage!

    The end is pretty great!!
  7. Wow that negativity around here. I understand people can dislike that acoustic rendition, but come on, it was simply for them to play a little intimate song, thing which they haven't done at all this tour yet.

Remember a time when not every show was instantly on the internet for all to see and U2 could just play around with their music once in a while without having fans on forum shit on them ? It's obvious they're not trying to find a new official arrangement of The Best Thing with this acoustic performance. Bono just wanted to do this for his wife probably.

Besides, the audience seemed to really like it, as I do.
  8. Here's the HQ audio version thanks to chrisedge!

that's the way I saw it, too, just a one off.

(But I do think that it sounded terrible, specially at the beginning)

TBTAM is less embarrassing than Boots or Joey, and I do think it's doing as good as it gets for a 40 year old band like U2.

Songs won't perform just based on how good they are.

A controversial point of view... a song like Song For Someone, if it had been released by 80's/90's U2, it could've been a hit and become a classic. Maybe it's not the greatest composition, but I'd say that Extreme's More Than Words isn't either, yet it became more successful than they would've imagined, so if 80's 90's super cool U2 released SFS or TBTAM, I think it would've been not only a hit, but maybe it'd be even considered a classic.

"We have uploaded an old recording of TJT30 tour, it's San Diego, it has a very rare acoustic rendition of Best Thing About Me, check it out!"
  11. It's not only the acoustic version. They haven't nailed the full band performance either.
  12. I personally think it's a fantastic song and support all forms of the song.
