  1. History.
  2. This concert always gives me goosebumps. Always. Such a powerful event.
  3. It's almost hard to believe that the country took such a hammering in war that is very recent in historical terms. To think that the politics of mainland Europe had not learned anything from two world wars is madness. It is a revelation to hear the U2 bootlegs from 1993 and hear Bill Carter speak the truth that the media would not. Those broadcasts into the ZooTV/Zooropa shows are something historians would do well to document to expose the media we now know today. The show was a triumph of both band and people who attended the show to all unite. It really will stand testament in the history of the band.
  4. One of my favourite shows.

    Sarajevo

Well put. I actually based a research paper I wrote for an Eastern European History class on the band's Zoo TV linkups with Sarajevo. The PopMart show is still my favorite U2 show ever. Legendary.
  6. Sitting there with my blank cassettes recording it off the radio... hearing his voice break during New Years Day... the crowd and occasion carried him. What a show... love the whole era from 95-97, Miss Sarajevo is such a great song, glad they played it this tour and renamed it. I gonna have a few beers tonight, listen to POP, then the Sarajevo gig then finish with the whole of passengers (well maybe 4 songs) ?
  7. And like every year, it's time to ask Dutch Tim if he has listened to this show finally?

Thank you. I used my archive of U2 ZOO TV (Leg 4) bootleg recordings as part of my post Ph.D research. I presented the analogy of an axiom of faith as the underlying principle of a dichotomy that has seen the eruption of genocide with little learned from historical xenophobia irrespective of colour, creed, belief systems, faith or etymology. It is evident that whilst people hold their religions and faith close to their ideals and minds, the ability and acceptance of a diversified culture still needs a lot of work and education in our present time.

We currently have a political climate that is dictating a mass media covered war waiting in the wings. Moreso now than ever before due to the advent of the way mobile devices allow us to all talk at the same time ensuring nobody can be heard!! It would be a fervent hope that those same devices can be utilised in the arena of goodwill too.
  9. Holy shit guys, they remembered about Popmart!
