    my favorite "crowd" version of streets, despite low quality...

  2. As sais before, U2 gives a lot less concerts here in Europe than in the US

    And i think THAT's the reason why the croud in Europe is so much louder, much... better (i hope americans wodo understand that thereselves)

    Because here, I'll thake Belgium for example, when we hear U2 is going to play a concert, that's a unique event. And every single great U2 fan wants to be there ! So really everyone just LOVES to see U2 and on that night, maybe the only one in 4 years in that country, we MUST have a great night in a great atmosphere. Just look at the concerts in Holland, the public there is legendary

    So when i compare that to the US, there are a LOT of concerts (probably for commercial reasons)
    so i can imagine there in a family :
    Son " Hey mum, look at the newspaper, U2 is here... "
    Mum : "Oh what, AGAIN?"
    Son : "Shall we go ? "
    Dad : "Oh why not, nothing on the tv that day"
    And then there the family goes out for a night, listening at U2...

    And don't misunderstand me, there ARE huge fans in the US, i know that
    But i think the Americans are a bit spoiled on that : a lot of concerts of a lot of groups... you often just can pick one out when you're up too but in Europe that al diferent, as already said, you have just maybe 2 hours or less to get yourself a ticktet so al the great fans (as we are) are waiting for hours just to get that valuable ticket !

  7. well, i agree on of you fans all over the world. But the reason why the crowds are so loud in Europe, Australia, and South America because the concerts are outside. Compare in a big arena, the seismic waves of the music is caved in and outside, of course the music will be louder. I've been to concerts, not U2 concerts unfortunately, outside and inside. The music and the yelling made my ears ring for 2 weeks after the inside concert but outside concert made my ears ring almost 4 weeks. Both concerts were almost the size of U2's concert in audience.
  8. For those who've been there(unfortunately I was not one of them): was the roof of the Amsterdam ArenA open or closed during the concert? Because most of those who attended the show said that there was a large resonance. Like Monica says, it is a huge difference to attend an outside show compared with an inside show.

Hello I think south american audiences are the best, we sing all the song, we jump al the concerts , and we are more laud, because U2 goes to europe all the tours, but not south america, I from Chile and I went to popmart 98 and vertigo 06, and bono and band drink champagne en Santiago, thats was so great.

    We are the best we have the band in our heart.

  12. I think it's a good point that outside the US, there's less opportunities to see--I mean, experience--U2 live that each night becomes a major event.

    I also think that the cultures are different in a subtle, but fundamental type of way.

    For instance,

    US SPORTS: baseball & American football - people sit down the entire game as they have hot dogs and beer. They stand up and cheer at key moments (home run, big strikeout, touchdown), but other than that no energy. and the good seats are usually taken by "professional-looking" guys on a "date" with their high-paying clients, showing no emotion whatsoever and checking their cell-phones and answering their blackberry's every 5 minutes.

    REST OF WORLD: football / soccer - most of the game there's no scoring (most Americans would call this "boring"), yet fans still jump up and down, sing songs, make loud chants (ole, etc.), the whole time regardless of whether they drink. it's acceptable to just let go and have fun this way and no one looks at you like you're an idiot for doing it.

    Just a tad different, I'd say.
