And I think the ooohs in this song (especially on the start) are probably the worst things I've heard in years...
    Things are back to normal

As I said in the 'how would you rate GOOYOW' thread, I don't really want to like it... but I have got rid of my prejudices and I have admitted that in this particular track something has clicked with me.

I got the same with American Soul... get rid of my prejudice with losing creativity by using bridge from one song as chorus to other song... and I like it

but this song... maybe I will change my mind after hearing it live, but for now it's worse than California to me (and I really don't like California)
  3. Made some lyrical fixes thanks to Ali on our song pages. Apparently the official lyrics that come on iTunes music were done by an intern.
  4. I wish the Solo was longer it’s so good.
  5. Edge is a bit poor and lacking ideas as of late (since 2009 I'd say) but GOOYOW's solo is pretty good indeed, a bit out of what he's used to.

if the solo was longer, Bono would start sing or talk something to it
edit: solos in SLABT and Troubles are pretty good IMHO - could have been longer though

SLABT is amazing. Full throttle after the first chorus.

GOOYOOW is a good example of minimalist Edge I think.

Both are good examples of "Edge's standard solos": a variation over the main melody, repeated 4 times with little changes like a minor 7th or a major 3rd interval. Not bad at all, but lacking creativity.

PS. In the case of SLABT I'm talking about the final solo, not the middle one mentioned by dieder ↑ which is actually the real standout point of the song.
  9. Unknown Caller was his last good solo (?)
  10. Yes, I was going to say that. MOS, Unknown Caller and Breathe are Edge's latest highest points.
  11. Breathe is so underrated. That outro blows me away every time
