This is exactly the words I was trying to find to describe that bridge. It's one of the most surprisingly dark little piece of music they've made in years. I'm disappointed that they didn't explore that side of the song a lot more...

The only thing from the studio version that I really liked. That breakdown is so mental. If only the rest of the song was like the live version.

But hey. To each his own.
  3. I've been fiddling with the equalizer and you can really crack this one up a lot.
  4. Yeah but you may think with all the producers and sound engineers in studio they could figure this out themselves.
  5. Exactly. It's like they hired some toddlers.
  6. does not not sound bad all,,its not the greatest song though. bass is cool but meh.
  7. Just the intro alone. That guitar sound ?!?! A kick ass bassline. A nice sneer in the lyrics ( I've been waiting for more of that) , positive upbeat hook ...

What not to love. The studio version sounds less powerfull than the live version but it has so many little details, (bass and guitar Adam and Edge are all over this) if there's a song better than this on SOE. This album deserves to be a major hit.

All of that which I LOOOVE. I just wished some elements of the live version were kept in and the studio version.
  10. Seriously, after this one and The Best Thing, they really need to fire their engineer or whoever is mixing/mastering their stuff these days. This song sounds so squashed. Even something as little as the cymbal being muted as it goes into the pre-chorus is just an odd choice.
