  1. Come on man, we may not agree on this, but we're not doing this for sport. I will defend SOI, NLOTH or any other album to the death, but because we love U2 we can say what's bothering us. Nothing less, nothing more.

    I think it's different... maybe if American Soul came first, then it would've been better for me... Volcano would have a "small" node to AS. But in this case, sounds like the song was built around a bit of a previous song.

    Not sure. Also, after a few listens I'm warming up to the chorus.
    And being followed by Best Thing* sounds great, btw.

    Well, that was on the same album, and it was also like a sort of background thing in the weird, abstract intro to a completely different song. It was more of a callback and less of a "using an entire C section from one song for the B section of another".

    It still happened. I really don’t care to be honest. The song sounds good. I’ll crank it at the gym. Good to run to and pretend to be a rock star to.

  9. I do find it a bit of a struggle getting past the similarities to volcano. I really enjoy the song and then I hear that chorus and I’m not a huge fan of volcano as it is. Really limits the song to being no more than decent in my eyes. I don’t dislike it though just don’t love it.

    I totally agree with you (except on not being a fan of volcano).

    It's just that I'm easy to please by these guys, and after a few listens while thinking that way, I couldn't help start tapping and airguitaring and airdrumming and basically loving the song.
