  1. Still too tame and soft.
  2. A bit on the tame side alright. Lacking bite musically.
  3. Agree with the "too tame and soft" opinions. It still reminds me too much of ATYCLB, for all the good and bad reasons. Good = anthemic, stuck in my head, encouraging/inspiring to me as a dad with three young girls now. Bad = kind of bland, generic, way too similar to Beautiful Day, chorus lacks a certain "punch" to it.

    Still growing on me, maybe...

  6. Must confess that this forum is starting to depress me. There's so much negativity over past number of years especially on the new songs. I love the new songs and really can't wait until the new album.

    To be honest , U2 fans have been spoilt. A band in there 50's still touring and writing new material. We will only realise what we had when it is no longer there! Social Media doesn't help. Could you imagine the forum's if they were available when Achtung Baby was released. It would be like this:

    Zoo Station - what the f*** is that noise at the start?
    EBTTRT - a song about Coke or Drugs - Useless
    One - Too Slow;
    UTEOFW - No singing WTF
    Wild Horse - at last a traditional song
    So Cruel - Depressing
    The Fly - What happened to Bono's Voice- will never be played live
    Mysterious Ways - Repetitive
    TTTYAATW - Lyrics are not worth a shit
    Ultra Violet- Scatty song that doesn't make sense
    Acrobat - U2 that I love would never have sworn before!
    Love is Blindness - what a rubbish solo by the Edge!

  9. Lol love this. Too much negativity in the world. We have a band that has been playing for 40 years, and people are complaining.

    I love your comments on each song.

    The Fly is my favorite song. With that being the "sound of 4 men chopping down the Joshua Tree", they should open the next tour with this song every night!!!

    Any other AB song beside One, End of World and MW would be awesome to hear again live.

    The truth is that opinions concerning new releases are always mixed amongst fans.
    I do actually remember that back in 1991 not everyone was happy with AB. Some fans even turned their backs.

    Achtung Baby was, however, revolutionary like no other U2 album has ever been, or will be again.

    But please write a similar review of SOE...it's fun
