  2. I was listening to a Bono ear monitor recording of ultraviolet from this last year, and could clearly hear a lower pitched bono vocal track in there. Sounded like the studio version added as sweetener. They do it all the time, especially on backing vocals. The raw backing track to this year's Sort of Homecoming is a trip...lots of synth and backing vocals. They put the headset of Larry just for that song because they didn't think anybody would be fooled with just bono and edge harmonizing.

    It was a bit strange that Bono was singing over the studio vocals. Eminem does it at his own concerts. Bono isn't going to do that.

    The Oohs on Elevation are always live I think, for Elevation, Vertigo and TJT17 he sang over the studio version of the Oohs

  7. I remember being really surprised at the 2005 rehearsals that Bono was doing it live.

    Let's have Kygo promote the remix on his own, and the guys do full band promos when the time comes.

  11. Who would've thought anyone would ever hear a bunch of U2 fans wanting U2 to go "back to basics" :p :p :p

    This was weird, but I think people are making too much of it. They were probably asked to show up and do it and were like "hey why not", I'm sure they thought it was weird too.

    But yeah, Edge's guitar "lip syncing" to me was a bigger blow. Not happy with that at all. I'm sure every band/artist playing at that level uses the same degree of trickery, but seeing U2 do it hits where it hurts. Makes me love watching shows from the early days.

    I'll say that I feel like this watching a ton of bands these days. Call me old (even though I'm 26), but when I go see shows like The Killers or Foster the People, I often find myself thinking "how much of this show could actually be spontaneous? How much is actually happening in front of me?" There's something to be said for going to see local punk shows or whatever, because it's all right there, warts and all. No IEM's keeping time, no sequencers or backing tracks, etc. U2 was once a band like that.
