  4. All My Life in the potato quality recording we've heard is better than any of the stuff we've gotten from SOE so far IMO. It's the kind of grandiose that U2 is/was good at. Not overblown, not pretentious, just...U2.

    Man I wish that Rubin album would've come out. U2 needs a producer like him, one that says "don't come into the studio and wait for the studio or me to help you write a hook. Come here prepared with some good fucking tunes, and I'll tell you if you're ready."

    Which U2 has never come prepared so wouldnt it not be U2 if they came prepared.....
  6. U2 isn't U2 because they're unprepared lol. They should evolve as a band as much a possible, and that would be one way they could still evolve after four decades.

    I'm pretty sure there was a quote from Bono saying that Mercy would've been on that album too. As in he was quoted during the making of that album as saying "Mercy will be on our next album". Not sure where I read that though...

    There's this one too that I'm pretty sure was recorded at the same time as All My Life:

    Lol, All My Life is basically a very rough demo. A catchy chorus and a good solo. That's all we've heard of it

    You're not wrong....but what promise!!! I do think that chorus is stronger than any of the choruses from the so-far released SOE songs. I'm not trying to be annoying about this, just saying.
