    I actually don't think so. I think it's more likely the encore opener or something. The lights are out, and it slowly starts up. I don't hear it as an opener. Once we hear the whole album we'll be able to tell though.

    Fuck I love this song though, not going to lie. It's grown on me quite a bit. It's super groovy, has some decent guitar work (that's mostly in the background, mind you), decent lyrics (I actually dig the whole "names" thing, I know many here hate it). Loving the "studio" version too. Larry should've thrown some percussion into the chorus though. Would've made it sound bigger.
    I think there’s plenty in that intro to extend for show intro purposes.

    My only complaint with the song is the ned and Fred carry on. The bridge is also a little awkward but for now it’s probably the best I’ve heard of the new material.

    Yeah, I just meant the song in itself. It's not super sing-along-able (like the Miracle chant), it's not super fast-tempo, more of a groove, etc. But who knows!

    And man, the bridge is easily my favourite part. It's almost otherworldly.

    Breathe wasn't fast tempo (it wasn't "jumpable" at all, actually) and hardly "singalongable", but it was a brilliant opener IMO!

    Yeah, that's true. I don't think it was a super-great opener though, and U2 seemingly didn't think so either.
  5. They didn't have any confidence in it, just the same as most of its album companions. Which is lame but kinda understandable given the fact that 95% of the stadium hadn't heard other than GOYB.

    yeah i like NLOTH and i think Breathe was a verry nice opener

  12. Was the main reason for breathe being dropped not more to do with the gap in between legs because of Bono’s operation? I think they showed quite a bit of faith in the album considering how long legs 1 and 2 were, where the songs featured heavily.
