1. U2 can not do more
One of the world's tallest rock bands sounds a bit dodgy on yet another mediocre album

  2. As predicted in my earlier post, Bono's stature gets mentioned in a review. I wasn't expecting the whole band to be mocked for being shortarses though. So harsh.

I love the story that Bill Flanagan tells in At The End of the World - I guess he was taking a break in between legs of the tour or something (or maybe just for a little stint between the times he went out with the band on tour) and he was painting his kid's room when he received an early copy of the final version of Zooropa. He put it on while painting his kid's room and got a sensation of vertigo, because the juxtaposition of being totally pulled back into the Zoo-nightlife via the music and being in his kid's room (domesticity) was total weirdness for him at the time.

    Fuck that book is awesome.
  4. The Last Word (Matt Cooper's show) on Today FM in Ireland doing a review of SOE very shortly

    Listen live here

  5. Listening! Thanks

EDIT: Man, hearing The Blackout on the radio - it should've clearly been the first single (not just the first released song). I guarantee it would've gotten a LOT more radio play, especially on alt. rock stations.
  6. Yes, it works.
  7. This reviewer just said:

    3/3.5 out of 5
"It will be good for U2 fans, probably won't bring any new fans in"
    "A solid effort"

    So, pretty "meh".
  8. Pretty much
  9. "Not a home run"

Well, I think we already knew that.
  10. if SOE is better than SOI i'll be happy
