Light of Home - getting the Cedarwood Rd vibe and the subject matter of Iris and how everything was rosy in Bono's life before Iris died and the lyric at the end of Lights of Home having the Iris lyric, makes the song heavy and almost outworld at the end...for those who are life long fans of the band will get this, it puts that tear in your eye. Brilliant song and ideas.
When listening often I had a "who the hell is playing that?" vibe... it sometimes doesn't sound like U2.
Also, I insist that Showman sounds to me like The Killers.
Ligths of Home, Summer of Love, Red Flag Day (I didn't get the "early albums" feel, but loved it none the less), Little Things, Landlady, Showman, Thirteen...
Could be true, I really hope not though, but all good things must come to an end.
I kind of think there's more gas in the tank though. Definitely worth bearing in mind Bono recently said something to the effect of "...as it turns out, I think we will have much more to say" when talking about SoE on the recent Ruud de Wild interview.
