1. Even if I don't like GOOYOW, I don't skip any song for now...
Btw LIAWHL is great connector for repeating plays... it fits nicely at the start and at the end too
  2. And as I've said in another thread: Love for the first sight and can't remember when it happened to me with U2 album last time
  3. Listened to it, come away somewhat disappointed. Kinda glad I didn’t wait until Friday. Opening track is really something, almost getting shivers at the prospect of what’s to come but by The Showman I was bored. The Little Things and the final two tracks were a pick-me-up though. Now I’m in the loop, I will put it on the back burner until Friday. No real desire to pick it up again soon excepting one or two tracks but would rather do so as a whole.
  4. i think we must consider SOI and SOE together, too many influences, literature, history of the band, lifes of the bandmates etc. When i listened for the first time the first 4 new single songs i didin't like them so much. But now in a better complete view i think it's a real masterpiece. It sounds good when you listen SOE without pause remembering SOI, from the beginning to the end . It's like a book to finish, like a portrait in a museum, like a filmseries......it's art, great art, imo.
  5. and LOVE is to breath on every bridge, riff, intro, outro, lyrics, refrain..........love is everything and everywhere
  6. I’ve played the little things to death on the way to work today, can’t get enough.
  7. indeed it is a great tune. Listen to it after or before The troubles.
  8. Bono writes songs as he is dead, so U2 will releasing albums even after they all die.. Think there will be a lots of u2 albums in future... ??
  9. I am stunned by the quality of this album. Three three pop songs in the middle are the part I am enjoying the most at the moment. Fresh, direct, melodic, fresh. Summer of love is amazing, but all three are, really. Wow.

And that's just the start. The first two songs are also amazing. U2 are sounding confident, and excellent.

The two singles that follows are classic U2; Best Thing definitely works in context. I find GOYOW especially strong.

AS drives the message home. It works for me.

And there's so much more! Little things - another epic, classic tune. Landlady, lovely song, with a great ending. Blackout: more classic rock U2. Dark, really good.

And the 'fucking epic' coda. 13 weakest number on the album so far, but it is again early days.

All in all, a fantastic collection of songs.
  10. I keep getting chills down my spine with this album even after a few listens (especially love is all we left, love is bigger than anything in its way and landlady). Can't remember the last time this happened
  11. I'm just SO glad to read all these positive opinions after the (deserved) bashing we've been exercising these last couple of months
