Ha, don't worry about your age Dan to be honest, I don't know who she is, I think I have a vague idea but little else. I just felt it was necessary to castigate Nicole for suggesting it lol...

Certainly different from the original and classic version done by our band, but I find it amazing that Johnny Cash, who was so admired and esteemed by U2 honored their work by covering it. Somehow I'm sure they were humbled (Bono especially) the the great Johnny Cash thought so much of their song.

The most annoying pop star of my generation
She's someone who has a TV show on Disney Channel, and makes really annoying music, and most of the girls at my school freaking love her, and it's really annoying.

    Back on topic...
That was an interesting version of One, but I liked it.

I think you should go in with a set of loud speakers and play the whole of Achtung Baby at full volume - that'll scare the shit out of them, REAL music lol!
  6. I love his version of one. his voice is so haunting in it. and btw, for anyone who hasn't heard it, check out his covers of 'Personal Jesus' and 'Hurt'. Hurt is really scary with him singing. It really sounds like someone on the very brink.

Believe me, if I could, I would.(U2 puns, yay!) They seem to think that U2 sucks, but they've never even heard U2's music . Like, I mentioned how they had this amazing song called One, and this kid Matthew said "Dude, Metallica sings that, not U2." So I had to explain that they were completly different songs, they just had the same name. Then he says "Oh, good, because I don't think those pussys could sing Metallica". I had to restrain myself from clocking him!!!! I'm STILL mad.

Aha, you get used to it - alot of my mates from 6th form etc. don't like U2 and constantly take the piss, but to be honest it doesn't concern me because a) it's gone on so long it's dull, b) rather them than me liking comparatively shit music and c) there are far more important things to worry about I say. The beautiful thing about U2 is that they're so diverse, they reach out to so many people and means that we have awesome forums like this where you can chat to so many people with so many different views and opinions. Would you get that with more stereotyped genre-ridden crap like Hip Hop and what have you? I doubt it, but I'm taking nothing for granted...

    Glad I could help!
  11. Yep, I liked it. Many of Cash's lyrics were extremely deep and reflective, spritually and emotionally and One fit the bill nicely.
