    +2
  2. I sort of like that last review, but still there's things that baffled me...
Equally, American Soul taps into the jet-black riffery of Bullet the Blue Sky before being aided by a Kendrick Lamar guest spot.
How can Bullet be mentioned when trying to explain how American Soul sounds like?
This one is in the lineage of Miracle, Boots and Vertigo... But Bullet?

Lazy journalism: "Oh, U2 is writing a song about America again? Must compare it to Bullet The Blue Sky."
  4. Going to put SOI and SOE in 1 playlist and press shuffle: could be interesting to see how certain songs and sounds connect (or not)... Also can't wait for the vinyl & CD on friday!
  5. Red Flag Day is really getting to me. I was just listening to it and got quite emotional over thinking about people throwing their lives into the ocean to escape hell. Thankfully The Showman follows and lightens the mood quite a bit.
  6. First listen through was meh... Nothing really stood out much.

Second listen through... starting to find some stuff I like.

Second half of album is stronger than first half.

For comparison's sake, I was floored by Innocence immediately.

This one will take some growing on me.

    Like the Ordinary Love remix.

Is it really any different than the Epworth remix?
  8. For me the moment that stands out most is how The Little Things starts after Showman. So much urgency just from those first notes
  9. Right! My bet is that side two of the SOE cassette would have started with The Little Things...

  10. Agreed. If they hung it up at the end of the tour, I would be wholly satisfied. Way more so than I could ever have hoped to be at this stage.
