It is surprising. The live performances weren’t even bad. I have no explanation honestly lol
  2. if they keep playing it with the piano at the first half, then no
  3. explanation is first half
  4. I really don't mind the piano but I do prefer studio of course like most of us
  5. Anyone else getting an Unforgettable Fire vibe of all albums on this album? A lot of the sonic territory Edge is messing around in is very UF for me, in a good way. A lot of it is sort of hidden in the background, but there's a lot of reverb'd guitar, lots of harmonics being used, especially in Little Things and Landlady.

You know, I actually feel like every era of U2 is pretty well represented on this album, and then some. Love is All We Have Left isn't from any other U2 era, nor is really Lights of Home. In fact, Landlady and Little Things aren't really either. It's sort of like...familiar, but different, and that's fucking awesome. Like if you were to listen to Boy and then this album and NOTHING in between, I think you'd be able to hear similarities, but also see how much growth is there. I'M DOING THAT THIS WEEKEND.

Gah, I'm just thinking out loud. I fuckin' love this album. I hope a lot of these dynamics aren't tampered too much with in a live setting.
  6. I’m definitely listening in order to both SOI / SOE.

And the new tour opener literally almost HAS to be Love Is All We Have Left morphing into The Blackout.

I’m also very interested in seeing how Song For Someone / 13 is used live... really would lend itself to a closer that featured some snippets here and there as Bono is wont to do,
  7. I love the studio version , the live version....not so much . Bono's voice sounded way out of tune to me , and (unlike the studio version) the song dragged live with no build up.
  8. Im sure this has been asked..so I ordered and already received my tickets to my 2 shows..so when do I get this new release from U2.com ? download and or cd ?
  9. Try mixing it.

IMHO, SOI is more interesting, it has more "meat", while SOE is a lot more subtle but better crafted.

I'm convinced from day 1 that mixing them is the best way to listen to it; I haven't listened to SOE on its own since the first day.

I have my own running order (which has changed in the last couple of days to include bonus tracks), but try to intertwine it:
It makes SOE more interesting and SOI better they complete each other to me.

No one knows, many are asking the same question.
