1. @bloodraven will probably also make an SOI/SOE mix myself that resembles my concept of what a “superalbum” would be.

  2. None of us do, yet most of us agree.

Probably has to do with Edge's newfound piano-sturbborness. He's a mediocre piano player and Little Things was so poor with him on the keys. Once he switched to the Les Paul the song took on a new life. In the studio version, there's only good things from the beggining.

Oh dude! Thanks again. My former-best friend (and drummer of my former band) cheated on me so I definitely need a drummer...
  3. In concert....i don t want piano....want guitar from the start ...song live will take on another life
  4. I can hardly consider U2 music to fall under any "genre." Maybe Boy takes some inspiration from punk, Pop from disco music, Bomb/SOI from classic rock etc. but the large majority of their albums (Joshua Tree, AB, ATYCLB) it's really hard for me to classify.
Does anyone else feel this way?

On iTunes I have all of my U2 music listed under "rock" just to make things easier

U2 is a genre itself that have several subgenres, like "angry U2", "desperate U2", "uplifting U2", and so on...

This album lacks "angry U2" which is what I think mofo means...
  6. Throw a rock on me.
If Zooropa is Achtung Baby’s Rattle and Hum, then SOE is what? It is even better then SOI. And I am one of the fans who really enjoyed SOI. It was long time to fall in love with it, but I knew from the first new song from SOE that this is gonna be a great album, better than SOI. No disappointment soooo far.
  7. About Little Things, is Bono.

The melody in the first half is perfect, each syllable is delivered in perfect time and note, which makes it delicious to listen to it.
Live, there's no way he can reproduce that, so it just sounds flat and monotonous.

I'd say American Soul is angry. The chorus to me is angry, and calling out America, the one Bono has always fawned over.
