And the already great atmosphere in the songs gets better, a lot more emotional also.
    +1
  2. To be honest, I find myself listening to only Little Things and Love Is Bigger. I love those two songs, but the rest of the album is sliding away to the good/okay/mehh region.
  3. Im sad, this álbum is só comercial and musically irrelavant...sounds and lyrics from past album...where’s the creativity from U2?? Where is the magic of the troubles, raised by wolves, purê rock like Cedarwood...the best song is not in the álbum its Book of your heart.
  4. SOE is U2's true POP. Massive yet intimate, joyful with sadness flowing beneath. I am loving every minute of it.
  5. After a week still exploring new sounds on this record. Certainly their most complete album since AB. Time will tell if I'll love it as much as Pop, Zooropa and most parts of ATYCLB/NLOTH/SOI (and a few tracks on HTDAAB)
  6. Better than last album but it miss hit songs like : Every Breaking Wave, new years day, one, until the end of the world

Best songs : Get out of Your Own Way, The Little Things That Give You Away, Red Flag Day

    i dont like cover, sorry
  7. I have so many thoughts after hearing the album I don’t know where to start. It’s going to take me time to digest this album – it sounds so different to anything I’ve heard before from U2. This reminds me very much of how I felt after listening to Achtung for the first time (potentially a good sign)

It’s full of successful contradictions. The songs sound light and fresh but these are not throwaway pop songs. There is real depth under the surface. They have somehow managed to make a cohesive sounding album, despite using so many producers which is a feat.

The songs that stand out for me already are Red Flag Day, Summer of Love and Little Things – RFD in particular is a gem. Personally, I haven’t felt so taken out of my comfort zone listening to new U2 music for 20 years and I am more than happy with this.
  8. Got it yesterday, and after just three spins I think it's a masterpiece!
  9. Seems to be a lot of positive reaction generally to the album....my mate was raving about it in the pub last night. Got himself the super deluxe vinyl set
  10. guys, is there any link to watch the Apple Music mini doc? I'm not a subscriber

    + 1!
  12. You swagger in your 20s/30s (TJT, AB, Zooropa and Pop) - you have a mid-life crisis (ATYCLB, Atomic, NLOTH) and then you sort yourself out and reflect but you can't end on a bad note (SOI) so you make this (SOE) which is very good by most measures and incredible given it's their 14th album and in their late 50s. Nothing else left to say from them in my opinion and I would not be surprised if this is the last.
