  4. Finally got a chance to hear all the tracks from SOE and I would say I'm moved to feel myself get connected to U2 again.
    Yes, I was a little bit disappointed with U2 earlier, because of (1) the new tour ticket sale (not because of the chaos, but the fact that "selling tickets before the new album is out" seems quite ridiculous for me, even though I love them so much and 80% sure I'll try to get a ticket to see their new tour) and (2) those SOI songs which make me feel a barrier between myself and U2, that was something I had never experienced since I became a fan with ATYCLB. But it's not about song quality. Even I went to I&E tour to know more about those songs, I still can't get into them and I don't have a motive to sing along while listening. Is it because I'm middle aged and thus feel a bit alienated with songs from youth/innocent age? I'm not sure.
    But now, SOE make me feel reconnected with U2 and can sing along with Bono again!! I have tears in my eyes while listening to Landlady, Love Is Bigger Than Anything In Its Way, Book Of Your Heart, 13; I find my body moving with Best Things, Summer Of Love, The Blackout; I feel the bittersweet taste and power in Get Out Of Your Own Way, Lights Of Home.
    I'm so proud that they can make it again! (Though I never doubt about their ability, just worried that they would put out an "easy listening" album to cater the younger generations so as to spread their message) Now my feeling is a bit like the line "When you think you're done, you've just begun." from Love Is Bigger Than Anything In Its way. Just so happy, haha!

    Lifelong listener. This is a huge step up and progress forward.
    I am so so so happy and even more so for the guys for sticking at it to produce their best thing since 2001.
    This has made all the anxiety I had about the band disappear. Well done, guy!

    Really happy you like the album! I just had a couple of questions for you if you would consider explaining what you meant by a few things you said?

    1. You said you wondered if you couldn’t get into SOI because you are middle aged and wondered because it was about youth. Did you mean the sounds or the themes? Surely you could identify with being young at one time, just like the band did?

    2. You mentioned that you feared U2 would become “easy listening” to cater to a younger generation, what did you mean by “easy listening”? Like simple pop? Cause easy listening to me is what old people listen to and I’d probably Place “dad rock” in there.
