  1. Totally forgotten to do that - that'll be tonight's homework!


    With each listen, it strikes me more and more as an album in the spirit of TUF rather than JT, AB, or the rest. The melancholy undercurrent, the sense of experimentation, the incorporation / reinvention of previous material.. that's the best way I can explain it. Definitely feels very unified sonically and thematically.

    This. I said this earlier in the thread, that I totally get UF vibes from this album.

    SOI to me was fantastic, but it felt too........like a nice suburban neighborhood where all the houses look the same. It was too put together, a little too neat, etc. Even the emotional moments felt too structured or organized or something.

    This album feels way more heart on their sleeve, both lyrically and musically, which is where I think U2 excel.

    Haha, well y'know me, always late to the party. Glad to know it's not just my brain in its twilight years losing the plot

  6. Safe to say the BIG Issue review is less than complimentary.

    As it happens, if there's any song that makes me think of the Killers, it's Love is Bigger - the verses made me think of Shot at the Night.
