1. Well that depends on the category of tickets and the country&city you're talking about.

2017 GnR GA's were 108€ in Bilbao, 89.5€ in Barcelona and 85.5€ in Madrid – all of which are quite more expensive than 78.5€ (U2's GAs for Barcelona).

The most expensive VIP packages for GnR were 1140€ (no, it's not a typo) and the equivalent for U2 was 450€.

Not to mention GnR have a Golden Circle (sold for 181€ in Madrid) and U2 don't (since Golden Circle is not quite the same as Red Zone).

    So... Well, no.
  2. i'm a simple mind and go for simple formula
    total gross / total attendees
  3. That's simpler, indeed, and a valid figure for a "simpler view" of the problem. But I don't think you can say "U2 shows are much more expensive than GnR ones" when one is $116/average ticket price and the other one is $108 average. It's just the amount of 175€ seats for U2 that's bringing its price/profit up, but the fact is that U2 have a bigger amount of affordable tickets (aka cheap seats and reasonable GAs) than many other bands - despite the global gross.

So, they offer more accessible tickets than other bands, yet there's a lot more people willing to pay for their expensive tickets than for the other bands, which in the end, even with less shows, and hence less people overall, they manage to cash more money.

    That's a win-win-win-win.

  6. I have been on a 600 km jorney and did some intensive SOE listening...Having previously ranked it 13th out of 14 it is growing on me...

I am now happy to declare it is the best Passengers album ever !
  7. Just thought... the final 3 songs are the best final trio since Ultra, Acrobat and Blindness... best final 2 since Please and Dead Man.
