1. Anytime websites can get a headline that is negative they will run with it. In this case Reddit is just blasting him, I can't read it because it gets me too worked up. They really hate him on Reddit and they never talk about the good things he has done. Really a shame that people will get caught up on a sentence without any context.

I just know in this day and age plenty of people would regard that as a sexist comment, I wouldn’t agree with them but I know they’re out there. As you and germcevoy said people love a bit of controversy.
Oh, I know... I wasn't directing at you. In this day and age, no matter what word choice you use, odds are someone will kick and scream...

It's funny, that interview was so in depth and so detailed and covered so much ground, and it's 1/2 a sentence that's grabbing the headlines...

Exactly. To me it says more (or less rather) about the person making the fuss than the person making the comment in the first place.

Unfortunately, the ratio is a million to one. 1 person makes the fuss, and 999,999 jump on the "offended" bandwagon and it goes viral. While the guy who just won "woman of the year" and lobbies that poverty is sexist and honors "the great women we know, who stood up who resisted, insisted and persisted" on tour is suddenly a sexist pig...

I don't even know why I'm bothering with this, honestly...
  7. Meh, I didn't think Reddit was that bad...

Also, I find a bit easy to dismiss ridiculous criticisms, and that's what it was most of it.

The only really valid argument I read -in the context of 'girly' meaning what he meant by that- was that U2 is an example of what he's criticising himself, i.e. that U2 is 'girly' music.
